Well known free online application store GetJar officially launched The Gettie Awards 2010 competition. The Getties is an event designed to showcase the world’s most successful and innovative mobile applications. This is the only awards event to spotlight top developers across all major platforms in a show attended by the developer elite, investors, as well as technology press. The competition has already started to accept submissions from mobile-application developers around the world. With this you can showcase your application in front of the Silicon Valley digerati of technology, press and investors. Compete with other leading edge developers on your platform of choice to claim the award.

Get press for your company and application – your work deserves it! The Gettie Awards 2010 will take place at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, California on July 12, 2010, from 7 PM. The event will be in conjunction with the MobileBeat annual conference and, amongst others, it will include dinner, entertainment and the award winners ceremony.
In Gettie Awards 2010 total of 7 awards will be given for:
1. Best Android application;
2. Best Blackberry application;
3. Best iPhone application;
4. Best Java application;
5. Best Symbian application;
6. Best Windows Mobile application;
7. The Gettie Award for best overall application.
Finally, there will also be the coveted Gettie Award winner, 3 apps will be preselected by an online public voting, available on the www.gettiesawards.com and the Gettie Jury will then select the Gettie Award Winner among these 3 apps. In addition to the prestigious Gettie Award, the winner will receive $25,000 in PPD credits from Getjar and 100 free hours of testing services courtesy of Device Anywhere.
GetJar has set the deadline for entries on June 25, 2010, later submissions not being taken into consideration for the competition. The judging panel will be comprised of Rich Wong (Accel Partners), Kevin Thau (Twitter), Mike Rowehl (Silicon Valley Mobile Monday and Chomp), Jessica Dolcourt (CNET), and Matt Marshall (Venture Beat).
