Vodafone India and BlackBerry introduces a mobile ECG (electrocardiogram) application application in India. The application eUNO R10 for BlackBerry smartphones in association with Maestros Mediline Systems Ltd in Mumbai. The BlackBerry application eUNO R10 allows the user to access patient’s ECG and heart performance reports on their BlackBerry phones.
Now it doesn't matter if you've no time to go to your doctor, just send your ECG report on his mobile. Now it'll be monitored on your doctor’s mobile handset. Thanks to BlackBerry, Maestros Mediline Systems and Vodafone for this technology to bring us.
This application will send the relevant information to the medial records server, which then automatically pushes the ECG report to a Doctor’s BlackBerry smartphone over the Vodafone mobile network; this will allow cardiologists to have remote access in real time to patient’s ECG and heart performance reports, and respond quickly with a diagnosis. The Nanavati Hospital of Mumbai is the first hospital in India to adopt the eUNO R 10 application.
“A heart attack is a life-threatening event. Knowing the symptoms of heart attack and seeking immediate medical attention is essential to prevent death, while appropriate treatment instituted within the first hour the golden hour can limit the damage to the heart", said Dr. Pavan Kumar, Head of Telemedicine Department, Nanavati Hospital at launch event of eUNO R10 in India.
Mr. Kumar Ramanathan, CMO, Vodafone Essar said, “The launch of the mobile ECG solution is a reflection of our commitment and ability to automate high-end work processes so that organizations and people stay connected wherever they are, whenever they want. The success of any telemedicine solution depends on robust mobile network and seamless connectivity, which we provide via our pan-India network. We are particularly pleased with this joint initiative because it utilises technology to enable the improvement of healthcare.”
This kind of advanced technology will surely change the way to hospitality in India and will be good for the health industry and the people they need to send the report immediately to doctors. Now this only started in Nanavati hospital, hopefully this will soon available on other hospitals in country.
