Xperia X10's Android 2.1 Update Boost Speed and Performance

Android-based Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 become one of the fastest mobile phones on the market after it'll got the Android 2.1 update. The phone, announced officially during the fourth quarter of the last year, is set to receive a software update sometime in the third quarter this year, a move that would greatly enhance the experience it can offer to users. Xperia X10 is a feature rich high end Android smartphone from Sony Ericsson.


Sony Ericsson UK and Ireland marketing director David Hilton said recently that the upcoming upgrade for the device should make it faster than some of the most popular Android-based devices on the market, including the HTC Desire. The high-end handset from the Taiwan-based mobile phone maker landed on shelves in April, about the same time as the Xperia X10, which was pushed back a few months. According to David Hilton, “There will be a software update for the X10 in the next couple of weeks, which is optimising the software so the phone works faster. The X10 will be faster than the Desire in most if not all functions of the phone. We intend to go out to the sales channels, training and educating people that X10 will be a master phone to use once this update happens. There will also be an Android update on the X10 in Q3, taking it from version 1.6 to 2.1. We’ll continue to look at how we can evolve beyond that,”.

This site also reports that Sony Ericsson has become increasingly frustrated at the job HTC is doing with the Desire, which is proving extremely popular.
