Olive Telecommunications, the first Indian company to launch Android tablet, now ready to launch the its Android 2.2 based smartphones soon. The Android smartphones from Olive will unveil in the first week of March 2011. Olive will launch all smartphones based on Android 2.2 Froyo.
According to their chairman Arun Khanna, there will be a whole range of smartphones that will hit the market. Also one of these phones will be a challenger to the Galaxy S and Apple iPad. This suggests that they will be launching smartphones with bigger touchscreen, and it will be something between a smartphone and a tablet.
The company has already launched many new and innovative products in the country including products like Olivepad, 3G embedded netbooks and a mobile phone with AA size battery for backup. It will be interesting to see how they fare with mobile phones. Though none of above product done a good job for company yet but hopefully new Android smartphone will give a new chance to stand in smartphone market in India.
