TI Announces OMAP4440 Processor for Mobiles With 1.5 GHz Each Core

Today Texas Instruments has announced OMAP4430, a next generation processor for smartphones. The new processor has new chipset is designed with future mobile needs like video chat and ability to use in tablets and has a performance boosts. This include a 1.25x increase in graphics performance, a 30 percent decrease in webpage load time, a 2x increase in 1080p video playback performance and clock speeds as fast as 1.5 GHz per ARM® Cortex-A9 MPCore, 1080p stereoscopic 3D (S3D), 1080p video conferencing and gesture recognition.
