Microsoft has finally fixed the time to retired Windows XP. A new end-of-support countdown gadget shows that XP is being forcibly retired in counting days. Now Windows 7 has eclipsed Windows XP in market share and its the right time for Microsoft to make the XP end clear. Still there are a lot of people running Windows XP. Now they need to think about the alternatives of XP.
According to the countdown clock, 1082 days left for Window XP and Windows XP will no longer be supported after 2014. The all new "Windows XP End of Support Countdown Gadget" is now available from the Microsoft download site and available for Windows Vista or Windows 7. Microsoft is want people to dump XP and upgrade with Windows 7. But I can't understand why its not for Windows XP, coz XP users will not able to know time to upgrade.
As you know the Internet Explorer 9 won’t run on Windows XP, and Microsoft has teased that their upcoming Internet Explorer 10 will also require Windows 7. The company is quickly trying to leave Windows XP behind, and wants its customers to leave it behind as well.
Microsoft was initially attempted to end support for Windows XP on its normal schedule back in 2009, but faced such stiff opposition that they pledged to continue support through 2014. Since Windows 7 was released, they’ve gone on the offensive, putting together extensive tutorials and documentation on how to upgrade from Windows XP, and including Windows XP Mode with Windows 7 to offer support for XP-only applications.
According to new starts, Windows XP is slowly losing market share as users upgrade their systems or buy a new Windows 7 pre-installed system. Windows XP is the first such Microsoft OS to reach the end of support state.
