The much awaited low cost tablet computer Sakshat is about to meet with you soon. Sakshat is project by Govt. of India to provides very low cost Tablet to students. Now the project is almost completed and 10,000 units are ready to ship which made at IIT Rajasthan.

The tablet announced last year by Indian Govt. and developed by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bombay and IIT Madras. The tablets will available by the end of this June and will cost around Rs. 1,100 but the actual cost is around Rs. 2,200 and it was subsidized by 50% which makes the cost low as only Rs. 1,100. Govt will use them for computer literacy especially in rural areas and will be distributed by HRD Minister to education institutes. The next shipment will be large and around 90,000 units will be shipped during next four months.
