Chinese Search Engine Baidu Creating New Quishi Mobile OS Similar to Android

The popular search engine in China Baidu is said to be working on a smartphone operating system. Quishi mobile OS by Baidu will be copied from Google's Android OS which is very popular these days and that's the main reason why Baidu choose Android. Android is based on Linux, which is completely open source and free to anyone who wants to make their own version to distribute.

The Quishi operating system will be full featured smartphone OS not just a basic OS with theme and file manager like some other basic Chinese OSs. Though Baidu hasn’t officially announced the operating system but according to news sources Baidu is to be working on their own version of Android and the operating system is rumored to be called Quishi.

We can't say how legal is it for them to copy Android OS but company might have to face legal threats from Google. Baidu want that the Quishi operating system will be an alternative to Android in China and its designed specifically for the Chinese users.

China already have lots of alternative market app which providing lots of China only and other pirated application to Android users. And this move by popular search engine in China surely bring a tough competition for Google in China.
