Google has Roll-out Panda 2.3 Update: How it Affect My Site

Google has pushed the new Panda update. This update is Panda 2.3 and this is one of the 500 changes that Google make each year to its ranking system. Google Panda is a new ranking algorithms for website ranking which make a lots of new point of ranking from old algorithms. For exp if your site has low quality or copy paste contents can cause the rankings for the entire site to decline, even for the high quality pages.

According to Search Engine Land, Google has confirmed that it pushed out a small update to the Panda filter and a Google spokesperson told us, “We’re continuing to iterate on our Panda algorithm as part of our commitment to returning high-quality sites to Google users. This most recent update is one of the roughly 500 changes we make to our ranking algorithms each year”.
“This update incorporates some new signals that help differentiate between higher- and lower-quality sites.” “As a result, some sites are ranking higher after this most recent update,” Google added.

The previous Panda update 2.2 was done in June 16, 2011. Google updated its Panda algorithm almost every month. And each time the Panda updates is run, there’s a chance for sites to see a traffic drops or gain. Google Panda is more a ranking factor than algorithm update. Google Panda updates is designed to reduce rankings for low-quality sites, so the key thing for webmasters to do is make sure their sites are the highest quality possible.

Mainly Panda update has following ranking factors:
~Substantial low quality on a site can cause the rankings for the entire site to decline (even for the high quality pages)
~Evaluate your web site for poor quality pages (not useful, poorly written, non-unique, or thin) and remove them
~Overall user experience is likely important: design and usability, ad-to-content ratio, brand perception
~Look at both content and page templates (do the templates overwhelm the pages with ads? Provide a poor user interface?)
~After ensuring all content on the site is high quality, focus on engagement and awareness (through social media and other channels)
~Diversify into other channels and even within search, look beyond web search at Google News and “one box” style results such as blogs, images, and videos

The Panda algorithm specifically targets sites that are low quality like:
~Not enough content to be useful
~Poorly written content
~Content copied from other sites
~Content that’s not useful
~Low quality content on part of the site can impact the rankings of the entire site

To improve ranking you need to remove the low quality pages from your site which also increase rankings of the high quality pages. Also having articles with information that is just not useful also let down the ranking.  Means its not enough to have unique contents but also usefulness of them.
