Samsung has lift out the Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet which was recently showcased at the IFA 2011 consumer electronics show in Berlin. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 is an Android powered tablet and features Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.4 GHz dual core processor and a 5100 mAh battery that has a video playback time of up to 10 hours.
Apple has claims the Galaxy devices copied its iPhone and iPad. But now as per court order, Samsung has take back the Galaxy Tab 7.7 from their booth at IFA. This was done after Apple won another induction regarding the sale of the Galaxy Tab in Germany. A court order in Dusseldorf, Germany has granted Apple’s request to ban the sale of Galaxy Tabs in Germany.
Samsung has removed this tablet from their IFA booth just after the court order. According to a report by Bloomberg, Samsung’s spokesman, James Chung said that they respect the court’s decision. But Samsung believes that this decision severely limits the choice for consumers in Germany. Another report by Engadget states that the Galaxy Tab 7.7 had previously been on display in the form of posters and demo models. There was a sticker written ‘Not for sale in Germany’ on that posters and demos.
Last month, the Dusseldorf Regional Court granted Apple a temporary sales ban on the earlier Galaxy Tab 10.1 model in 26 of the 27 European Union member countries. The current court order only for Germany and Samsung can sell this Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet in other countries. Samsung and Apple are the closest rival in tablet computers and the recent move is surly not in favor of Samsung. This can affect Samsung market reputation and tablet sales as well.
