The WordPress org has released the latest and greatest version of the WordPress software. The new WordPress Final v3.3 is available for download with code named “Sonny” in honor of the great jazz saxophonist Sonny Stitt.
The WordPress Final stable version 3.3 is immediately available for download here or your can update inside your WordPress dashboard. WordPress is known as world's most popular platform for websites/blogs and has had over 65 million downloads since version 3.0 was released. Its highly customizable and user friendly.
According to WordPress, "In this third major iteration we’ve added significant polish around the new user experience, navigation, uploading, and imports. Check out this short video that summarizes the things we think you’ll find are the cat’s pajamas. We’ve also been thinking a ton about what the WordPress experience is like for people completely new to the software".
The WordPress Final stable version 3.3 has a new drag-and-drop uploader which adding photos or other files to posts and pages just got easier. Drag files from your desktop and drop them into the uploader. Add one file at a time, or many at once. New File Type Detection allow you instead of needing to click on a specific upload icon based on your file type, now there’s just one. Once your file is uploaded, the appropriate fields will be displayed for entering information based on the file type.
Other features are new hover menus for the navigation, the new toolbar, improved co-editing support, and the new Tumblr importer. The WordPress version 3.3 has significant improvements there with pointer tips for new features included in each update, a friendly welcome message for first-time users, and revamped help tabs throughout the interface. The WordPress Final stable version 3.3 also has a very improved the dashboard experience on the iPad and other tablets with better touch support.
