Opera Mobile Labs version released with support of extensions. Now you can enjoy useful extensions with your Opera Mobile 12 Android same as you used in Opera Browser desktop versions. The Opera Mobile 12 Labs build available today is experimental and will only be limited to Opera Labs.
Extensions can make your browsing much easy and more smart. There's hundreds of extensions available for free to use in different categories like Accessibility, Entertainment, Games, Music, News, Productivity, Social, Tools, Travel, Weather, Web Development etc. You can download free extensions at Opera Addon page. Opera Mobile is already a good mobile web browser and new extension support could make it more powerful.
Opera Opera Software ASA made an announcement, "Today, we're happy to present you with a Labs release of Opera Mobile with support for extensions! When adding extensions support to our Presto engine back in 2010, a lot of time was spent behind the scenes so as to make our extensions framework very versatile and lightweight. Although the initial release was targeted for desktop only, every aspect of the extensions API was drafted with mobile in mind. At Opera we like to think the right thing to do with cool new technology and innovations is to release it to the people that really love it. That is what we've done today. "A few our our developers could not resist and have been quietly working on extensions in mobile and wanted to share their efforts with some of the most dedicated developers and content providers would like to play around with it and see what they can make of it. To be clear, there is no announcement here today that Opera Mobile will receive extensions like today's release. Its a very early Opera Mobile Labs release and it's not quite certain at this point that extensions functionality will effectively make it into a future beta or final release of Opera Mobile; the design is also most definitely not final, and there are some rough edges here and there, but if that doesn't scare you away. ~Speed Dial extensions are not supported.
~Extensions relying on keyboard shortcuts and/or mouse events might not work as expected.
~Popup windows are currently launched as a new tab, which limits their functionality. This is a known issue, and as stated earlier, this is not the final design.
~Buttons can become blurry on high-DPI screens.
