GoogleCL Command-Line Tools for Google Services

GoogleCL is a command-line utility that provides access to various Google services. It streamlines tasks such as posting to a Blogger blog, adding events to Calendar, or editing documents on Google Docs. In the era of all new advanced OSs many people don’t even know what a command line is, certainly those who have grown up after the Windows 98 era. But command line is known as a great time-saver tool. 


With command-line tool GoogleCL your can accessing almost all the Google services like Picasa, Blogger, Docs, YouTube, and so on. Ever wanted to upload a folder full of photos to Picasa from a command prompt? It made us want to say:

$ google picasa create --title "My album" ~/Photos/vacation/*.jpg

GoogleCL is very powerful tool and you can use it for downloading an entire Picasa album, or even all of your photos stored online, is as simple as:
$ google picasa get --title “Album Title” “local folder”
and all its without any time wasting on open certain page in browser. This way takes only few seconds to do this job, depends on size and net speed as well.

Also you can upload a post to Blogger or edit a Docs document with your text editor of choice. You can even add contacts or an event to Google Calendar with simple language such as $ google calendar add “dinner with Andrew today at 7 pm.”

GoogleCL is a pure Python application that uses the Python gdata libraries to make Google Data API calls from the command line. A .deb package ready for download, and hope to have it included in Debian and Ubuntu repositories in time for their next releases.
