The unnamed device’s specs include an 8 megapixel camera, a 3.7-inch super LCD display, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU. Three buttons line the bottom of the display, and the back of the camera features an LED flash. According to Engadget and their source, the phone’s hardware ready: HTC’s just waiting for Microsoft to fire the starting pistol and allow them to start selling it.
Beyond the mere details of the hardware, Engadget’s source is also claiming that HTC is in talks with two US carriers. Verizon’s the first one, which makes sense: they are still struggling to find their own iPhone-like showcase handset. If you’re not on Verizon, though, and want a Windows Phone 7 handset, don’t fret: HTC will doubtlessly be as promiscuous about their Windows Phone 7 smartphones as they have with their Android ones. There’ll be plenty of HTC Windows Phone 7 to go around.
