App Hunger: Apple Reaches 15 Billion App Downloads

All the Apple's App Store users seems to be a big app hunger coz they have downloaded 15 billion apps from store. According to new stats, each Apple mobile device, like the iPhone or iPad, has an estimated average of 75, either paid or free apps. These days smartphones getting cheaper day be day and the app business is turned into a multi-billion dollar. Even a free app capable to generate revenue using in app ads. The download rate of Apple is far ahead of Google's and others.

According to news, Apple said it has more than 425,000 apps are available at App Store as on this Wednesday, including more than 100,000 native iPad apps. There are more than 200 million people who use iOS devices, with users choosing apps in 20 different categories. The store is also profitable for developers, who have earned more than $2.5 billion for their work.

Android downloads from both Android Market and third-party stores exceeded 1.9 billion by the end of 2010. According to a survey by Chomp, Google's Android marketplace had a slight increase of paid downloads in June. Thee are games, entertainment and utility apps costing less than $2 comes in this increase and this not have expensive apps. Apple's App Store revenues saw a slight decrease in downloads during the same time period.

Microsoft also tighten its hand to run in race with its Window Phone 7. For this Microsoft announced the iOS to Windows Phone 7 API mapping tool in May which allows users to use Apple Apps on Windows Phones 7 devices. Though currently Microsoft app market doesn't offer apps like in Apple or Android surely it'll increase in near future.

They all top names are fighting each other and this will surely beneficial to end user in term of better services and rather cheap prices. Let wait and watch.
